How Holdspace works

Three ways to time

Ends at counts down to a clock time, like the end of a break at 2:15 PM. Duration counts down a number of minutes from now. Agenda runs a chain of named segments one after another, with a chime as each one ends. The ring shows every segment, so the group can see where they are in the session.

Breaks, rounds and your facilitator view

Mark a timer or an agenda segment as a break and the group sees your message, then a slow breathing cue in the last 30 seconds so people come back settled. Rounds gives each person in a check-in the same time, shows whose turn it is and who’s next, and chimes at each handover. Facilitator view opens a second window with your private notes, the running order, and whether you’re ahead or behind. Keep it on your own screen and share the main window.

Share with your group

On a running timer, choose Copy share link and paste it into your video call chat. Everyone who opens it sees the same countdown, with the end time converted to their own time zone. Pausing or adding time changes your screen only, so copy a fresh link after you adjust.

To place the timer inside another page without buttons, add &embed=1 to the end of a share link.

Good to know

A running timer survives a page reload or a closed tab.
The screen stays awake while a timer runs, so it is safe to project from a laptop.
Browsers keep sound off until you tap the page once. People opening a shared link will see a reminder.
Install Holdspace from your browser menu (on iPhone, use Share and then Add to Home Screen) to open it like any other app, even offline.
Updates arrive automatically the next time you open Holdspace while online.
